| DAY 1 |
NAIROBI - TREE HOTEL
Leave Nairobi in the morning to reach the small market town of Nyeri
in time for lunch. The founder of the Boy Scout movement, Lord Barden-Powell,
spent the last years of his life in Nyeri and is buried there. After lunch
drive through the forest to the tree hotel of your choice ( Ark, Treetops,
or Mountain Lodge) and spend the night, comfortably, watching forest game
as it comes to the floodlit waterhole and salt lick below. |
| DAY 2 |
TREE HOTEL - SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE
After breakfast drive north to reach Samburu, which lies on the edge
of the vast semi-desert lands of northern Kenya, in time for lunch. An
afternoon game drive will introduce you to the animals which are peculiar
to the area – the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra and Somali ostrich. |
| DAY 3 |
SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE
Another exploration of this harshly beautiful reserve where game abounds,
especially in the forested fringes on the Uaso Nyiro river which flows
gently through the dry landscape. Lunch is followed by another game drive. |
| DAY 4 |
SAMBURU – MOUNT KENYA SAFARI CLUB
A morning game drive in this wild but splendid reserve. Continue to
the luxurious Mount Kenya Safari Club whose immaculately manicured gardens
nestle on the forested slopes of the mountain. The afternoon is free to
enjoy the numerous optional facilities of the club which include horseback
riding, tennis, golf, bowls, swimming or just luxuriating in the comfortable
and beauty of your surroundings. |
| DAY 5 |
MOUNT KENYA – LAKE NAKURU
During the morning cross the tip of the Aberdare Mountains stopping
briefly to admire the 73m plunge of Thomson’s Falls, named after the Scots
explorer who first saw the falls in 1884. Continue to Lake Nakuru for lunch
and afternoon visit to Lake Nakuru National Park where the sight of a million
or more flamingo cannot be forgotten. |
| DAY 6 |
LAKE NAKURU MAASAI MARA
Leave the beautiful lake to drive across the lunar landscape of the
Great Rift Valley to reach Kenya’s best known game reserve – the Maasai
Mara – in time for lunch. In the afternoon explore the rolling hills and
plains for wonderful sights of the great numbers of different species found
here. |

MAASAI MARA

MAASAI MARA - NAIROBI
After breakfast return to Nairobi which is reached around 1 p.m. |
